It was a tight race for box office supremacy over the September 29 through October 1, 2017 weekend. One of the weekend’s two new major releases – American Made – was neck-and-neck with returning box office champs It and Kingsman: The Secret Service. Meanwhile, Flatliners was skipped by most moviegoers, finishing with a measly $6.7 million. It did, however, still manage to finish in the top five at the box office over its first three days in release.

It, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and American Made tallies were incredibly close, but it appears It will earn the top spot once the dust settles. However, the current releases will all have to give way next weekend when the long-awaited, much-anticipated Blade Runner 2049 starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford opens on October 6th.
