CBS says late night fans can expect to see James Corden, the new host of The Late Late Show, taking over on Monday, March 9, 2015. The series will tape in Los Angeles and will be executive produced by writer/director/producer Ben Winston.

“We’re excited to begin CBS’s next chapter after midnight and introduce James’ wide range of performance talents and fearless creative instincts to American television viewers,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. “He and Ben have been friends for a long time and partnered together on a variety of successful projects. They are a creatively dynamic and very energetic host/producer combination.”

Winston and Corden met when Winston was just 17, and they’ve worked together on lots of projects including the Brit Awards and Corden’s “Smithy” sketches that are part of BBC1’s Red Nose Day. Winston’s currently busy as an executive producer of UK’s The X Factor. His credits also include numerous projects with One Direction including directing their “Best Song Ever” music video.

Corden’s taking over the gig after Craig Ferguson vacates the position on December 19, 2014 after hosting for 10 years.
