Chris Hemsworth Will Help Announce 2014 Oscar Nominations

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth will be joining the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs to reveal the nominees for the 86th Academy Awards®. Hemsworth and Boone Isaacs will be getting up not-so-bright and early on Thursday, January 16, 2014 to take the stage at a news conference at 5:38am PT. The news conference is set to take place at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
 
While Hemsworth most likely won’t be nominated for either Thor: The Dark World or Rush, his Rush co-star Daniel Bruhl could earn a Supporting Actor nomination. Hemsworth’s feature film credits also include Star Trek, A Perfect Getaway, Thor, The Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Red Dawn. He recently completed work on Cyber and is currently filming In the Heart of the Sea with Cillian Murphy and Ben Whishaw.
 
The 2014 Oscars will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 2, 2014, live on ABC.
