There’s a shift in format and an addition to the key members of The Voice staff. NBC’s mixed things up a bit and brought in Chris Martin (from Coldplay) to play the role of ‘key adviser.’ Martin was tasked with mentoring all of the artists remaining on each of the four teams – Team Blake, Team Adam, Team Shakira, and Team Usher – during The Battles: Round Two.

According to NBC’s announcement, Martin mentored the performers on their “vocal techniques, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their persona and strengths.” Meanwhile, the team members will continue to strive to impress their coaches and to remain in the competition in order to make it to the Playoff Rounds.

The Battles: Round Two kick off on Monday, March 31st and will feature every artist on a team (including the new team members added via ‘the steal’) against each other as they perform an agreed-upon song.

The Voice live shows start on April 21 with the top 12 artists competing for votes.
