Miranda Lambert wound up the evening’s big winner at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards held on April 7, 2013 and hosted by Luke Bryan and Lambert’s hubby, Blake Shelton. Shelton and Bryan, who kicked off the night by talking about each other’s jeans, proved to be a pretty entertaining hosting team as they helped keep the awards show moving along. And Bryan not only did a decent job as a first-time co-host but also pulled off a surprise win in the Entertainer of the Year category.
Over 1.1 million Country music fans helped decide the winners of the Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories, with Florida George Line earning the New Artist honor.
Lambert’s four wins came in the Female Vocalist of the Year (her fourth consecutive win in that category), Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year (as performer and as songwriter). And Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town and Florida Georgia Line finished the evening with two award wins each.
