Australian actress Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows) has signed on to star in The Curse of Downers Grove. The psychological thriller will be directed by indie filmmaker Derick Martini (Lymelife).
Martini and Bret Easton Ellis adapted Michael Hornburg’s novel for the screen.
Filming is expected to begin this spring.
The cast also includes Lucas Till (Stoker, X-Men: First Class) and Penelope Mitchell (Hemlock Grove) in leading roles. Jason Dubin, Oren Segal, and Chiara Trento are producing the thriller.
The Plot:
Director Derick Martini takes us on a wild ride through a small mid-western town gripped by a curse that claims the life of one high school senior every year. Chrissie Swanson, played by Bella Heathcote, fears she is the next victim of The Curse of Downers Grove.
