‘Dead to Me’ Rises for a Second Season

Dead to Me Season 2
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in Netflix’s ‘Dead to Me’

Netflix has made it official: Dead to Me will return for a second season. Season two doesn’t have a premiere date, but it is confirmed Christina Applegate (A Bad Moms Christmas) and Linda Cardellini (The Curse of La Llorona) will reprise their roles as Jen and Judy, respectively.

The dark comedy was created by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, One Big Happy), and Feldman will continue to guide the series as showrunner and executive producer. Christina Applegate, Gloria Sanchez Productions’ Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart, Hustlers) and Christie Smith (Nathan for You, Tosh.0), along with Will Ferrell (Succession, Drunk History) and Adam McKay (Succession, Drunk History) of Gary Sanchez Productions, also executive produce.

Dead to Me is a CBS Television Studios production for Netflix.

The first season’s cast was led by Applegate and Cardellini and featured James Marsden (Westworld), Max Jenkins (The Mysteries of Laura), Sam McCarthy (All These Small Moments), Luke Roessler (Legion), Brandon Scott (Channel Zero), and Edward Asner (Forgive Me).

The Series Plot:

“Jen (Applegate) is a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann’s cookies and a shared affinity for The Facts of Life, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

Dead to Me is an addictive dark comedy that dives into the painfully unfiltered, weirdly funny waters of grief, loss and forgiveness.”
