Syfy has renewed the competition series Face Off for season #4. The just-announced fourth season will air in 2013 and has already lined up appearances by Superman Returns director Bryan Singer and Avatar producer Jon Landau.

Announcing the renewal, Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions (could he possibly have a longer title?!), stated: “Face Off has proven itself as a quality, signature series for Syfy. The success the series has achieved in its three seasons – from both a critical and ratings standpoint — establishes a strong foundation as we continue to build the momentum for season four. It’s a pleasure to continue to showcase talented special effects artists with this addictive program.”

Syfy’s currently airing the third season, with producer Brian Grazer guest starring on the October 9, 2012 episode (airing at 9pm ET/PT). Grazer will be “offering tips to the six remaining artists for the week’s Dr. Seuss-themed challenge.”

According to the network, Face Off averages 1.7 million total viewers.
