24: Legacy and Star are both going to be joining Fox’s primetime lineup during the 2016-2017 season. Both dramas have received series orders from the network and will debut sometime in the upcoming season. 24: Legacy is the newest addition to the 24 franchise – Fox also revisited that show’s world in 24: Live Another Day – and comes from executive producers Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, Stephen Hopkins, Manny Coto, Evan Katz and Kiefer Sutherland. Hopkins directed the pilot from a script by Coto and Katz. Star comes from Tom Donaghy (The Whole Truth) and Oscar nominee Lee Daniels (The Butler) who’s also the creative mind behind the critically acclaimed series Empire. Like Empire, Star will be a music-driven series. Daniels directed the pilot and co-wrote the script with Donaghy.

The 24: Legacy Plot: Starring Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Miranda Otto (Homeland) and Jimmy Smits (Sons of Anarchy), 24: Legacy chronicles an adrenaline-fueled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil – in the same real-time format that has propelled this genre-defining series.

The Star Plot: In Star, three talented singers navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. Featuring three newcomers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) as the young singers, plus Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Queen Latifah (Bessie) and Emmy Award nominee Benjamin Bratt (24: Live Another Day), the series will feature original music, along with stunning musical fantasy sequences, as the girls dream of their future. The series will also feature guest star Lenny Kravitz (The Hunger Games).
