Michael Chernow will be searching for savory dishes that inspired the hashtag #foodporn on FYI’s new food series, Food Porn, debuting on December 3, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. Chernow hosts the show and Bethenny Frankel executive produces the half hour series which will have a 14 episode season one run. 70 million #foodporn posts on Instagram and with the hashtag used nearly every two seconds on Twitter, there’s apparently a lot of interest out there in this particular topic.

“Everyone picks up their phone way before their forks when they go out to eat and FYI wanted to be the first to capture this trend and bring it to life,” said Gena McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Programming and Development for FYI. “We knew chef and restaurateur, Michael Chernow, was the right person to help make this show an engaging, fun and drool-worthy experience for our viewers.”

In the new series Food Porn, Michael will take on the cultural phenomenon in search of the most buzzed about food in America. Viewers will follow Michael as he travels across the US to meet today’s tastemakers – the everyday people behind the delicious online posts – and discover what makes the meal so distinctive and worthy to share online. The series will also go beyond just the photo, as Michael will get his hands dirty in the kitchen and meet with the chefs responsible for creating the dishes to find out what’s in them and why they are so insanely popular.

No culinary hot spot is missed as Michael travels across America to foodie cities like New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. The series will feature delectable dishes such as Lobster pop-tarts, the ramen burger, a pizza pot pie, a breakfast ice cream cake, a Filipino Kamayan-style feast and more.
