‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Premiere Date and Teaser Trailer Revealed

Patient Game of Thrones fans sat through a lengthy Facebook Live event featuring ice melting in order to be the first to find out season seven will premiere on July 16, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. In addition to announcing the premiere date, HBO debuted a teaser trailer for the upcoming season which ends with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) saying, “There’s only one war that matters…the Great War.”

The seventh season of the critically acclaimed fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series will consist of just seven episodes. Among the returning Game of Thrones actors are Harington, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Jonathan Pryce.

Season eight has been confirmed to be the series’ final season. David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger, and Bernadette Caulfield executive produce, with Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis, and George R.R. Martin co-executive producing.
