‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is Renewed for Season 15

ABC has renewed its popular dramatic series Grey’s Anatomy for a 15th season. Grey’s Anatomy is ABC’s longest-running primetime drama and the eighth longest running drama in television history.

Grey’s Anatomy has a special place in my heart and millions of viewers feel the same way,” stated Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment. “Thanks to fiercely loyal fans who have been on this journey since the beginning, and new generations of viewers who continue to discover the joy and drama of Grey Sloan Memorial, the show is as strong as ever.”

Season 14 of Grey’s Anatomy ranks in the top five among primetime broadcast series. The 2017-2018 season is the show’s most watched season in four years, with viewership up over 3% over season 13.

Ellen Pompeo stars as Meredith Grey, Justin Chambers is Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson is Miranda Bailey, James Pickens Jr. is Richard Webber, Kevin McKidd is Owen Hunt, Jesse Williams is Jackson Avery, Caterina Scorsone is Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington plays Jo Wilson, Kelly McCreary is Maggie Pierce, and Giacomo Gianniotti is Andrew DeLuca.


Grey’s Anatomy was created by Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder). Rhimes executive produces the series along with Betsy Beers (Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder), Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan), Krista Vernoff (Shameless), William Harper, Zoanne Clack, Debbie Allen, and Fred Einesman.

The Plot: “Recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and nominated for multiple Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, Grey’s Anatomy is considered one of the great television shows of our time. The high-intensity medical drama, now in its 14th season, follows Meredith Grey and the team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial who are faced with life-or-death decisions on a daily basis. They seek comfort from one another, and, at times, more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.”
