‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Soundtrack Passes the 500,000 Sales Mark

Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack Hits Gold Status

Marvel Music and Hollywood Records’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 soundtrack is one of most popular soundtracks in recent years and it’s just been certified Gold. Sales of the soundtrack have surpassed 500,000 and it’s hardly showing any signs of slowing down, with the catchy classic tunes propelling the soundtrack to the #1 spot on Billboard’s 200. It also made it to the #1 spot on the iTunes chart.

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy has pulled in $630 million worldwide and holds the title as the highest August release in Hollywood history. And, according to Disney, the action-packed comedy was the quickest film of 2014 to make it past $300 million at the box office.

Directed by James Gunn, the cast is led by Chris Pratt and includes Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio Del Toro.
