‘House of Cards’ Adds Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear for Final Season

Netflix announced Oscar nominee Diane Lane and Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear have joined the cast of the critically acclaimed, award-winning dramatic series, House of Cards. The announcement of the new cast members came as season six – the show’s final season – resumed production after a three month hiatus. The break in production came as the result of multiple claims of sexual harassment against Kevin Spacey who was ultimately removed from the Netflix series.

Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear have joined the cast of the series’ final season which is led by Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Robin Wright. The eight-episode sixth season cast also includes Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, and Boris McGiver.

House of Cards season six is executive produced by Melissa James Gibson, Frank Pugliese, Robin Wright, David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti, Eric Roth, Michael Dobbs, and Andrew Davies. The popular political drama was created by Beau Willimon.

House of Cards entered the record books as the first original online series to earn Primetime Emmy Awards nominations in the major categories. Over its five season run, the series has garnered 53 Emmy nominations and won seven times. In addition, House of Cards won two Golden Globes and was nominated six times. Other awards nominations and wins include recognition from the Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild of America, BAFTA, the Producers Guild of America, and Directors Guild of America. House of Cards also received a Peabody Award.
