NBC has taken Welcome to the Family and the new Ironside off the air as the result of dismal ratings, and the network’s announced which shows will be replacing the just-vacated time slots. New episodes of Dateline as well as other original programming will take over at 10pm on Wednesday nights in November and December when Ironside used to air. NBC’s new Thursday night 8-9pm ET/PT schedule for the rest of the fall will be filled with either two half-hour episodes of Parks and Recreation or NBC specials including The Sound of Music Live! and SNL Halloween. And in December The Sing-Off will take over the time period for two weeks.
In addition to announcing the end of Welcome to the Family and Ironside, NBC announced they’ll be premiering the Chicago Fire spinoff, Chicago P.D. starring Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, and Sophia Bush, on January 8, 2014 at 10pm. Community will also return to the schedule for its fifth season early next year, settling in on Thursdays at 8pm beginning January 2nd.
