Oscar winner Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart) has committed to starring in FX’s The Old Man, an upcoming dramatic series based on the Thomas Perry novel. According to the network, production on The Old Man will begin this fall. FX has not announced a targeted premiere date.
Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine are adapting Perry’s novel and will executive produce with Jeff Bridges, Warren Littlefield, Dan Shotz, and David Schiff. Steinberg, Shotz, and Levine previously collaborated on Starz’s pirate action-adventure series, Black Sails.
“Jeff Bridges is an iconic, extraordinary actor, and to have him as the star of this series is an incredible moment for FX,” stated Nick Grad, Co-President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment. “Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine have delivered an amazing pilot script and Jeff is perfect for the role of Dan Chase. The Plot:
