‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ Premiere Date Announced

Netflix has set a November 20, 2015 premiere date for the new series Marvel’s Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter in the lead role. The comic book-inspired series will debut at 12:01am PT on Netflix on November 20th, with all 13 one-hour episodes available for binge-watching.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is Netflix’s second original series based on a Marvel comic in a deal between Netflix and Marvel to develop series bringing to the small screen shows featuring Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Marvel’s Daredevil starring Charlie Cox premiered in April 2015.

In addition to Ritter in the title role, the Marvel’s Jessica Jones cast includes David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. Twilight‘s screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is the showrunner and executive producer. Liz Friedman and Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb are also executive producing.

The Plot:

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without.
