Nine-time Grammy winner John Legend is confirmed to perform at the 2014 Governors Ball following the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2nd. The Governors Ball is the official after-party for Oscar attendees (including nominees and winners) and this year’s gala will take place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center. 1,500 people are expected to attend.

“John Legend is one of the industry’s most innovative and talented artists,” stated Jeffrey Kurland, Costume Design Branch governor and chair of the Governors Ball. “We’re thrilled he will be joining us to celebrate this year’s achievements in film and for what promises to be a most memorable evening.”

In addition to his successful recording career, Legend founded the Show Me Campaign to help “break the cycle of poverty in both the U.S. and Africa.” He also actively supports Stand for Children, Teach For America, the Harlem Village Academies, and PopTech.
