Vacationeer Productions announced Julia Stiles (terrific in the 2010 season of Dexter) and America Ferrera (best known for Ugly Betty) have signed on to the comedy movie It’s a Disaster. Todd Berger (Happytime Murders) wrote the script and is also set to direct the film.
The comedy tells the story of four couples who meet for Sunday Brunch only to discover they are stuck in a house together as the world may be about to end.
“It’s a crazy story and I was convinced Julia and America would think I’m crazy too, but I’m thrilled they get my sense of humor. I’m excited to have them on board,” said Berger.
Kevin M. Brennan, Jeff Grace, Blaise Miller, and Todd Berger of the comedy troupe The Vacationers also are signed up for the cast. Berger directed the troupe in The Scenesters which won the Rosebud Award at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.
Filming’s set to begin this fall in Los Angeles.
