Actor/comedian Hart will be making his debut as host while Pink’s a VMA veteran having performed twice previously on the Music Video Awards show. According to MTV, Pink will be performing a new song off of her upcoming album, The Truth About Love, releasing on September 18th.

Previously announced participants include One Direction and Alicia Keys.

Commenting on his upcoming hosting gig, Hart said, “This is huge, wait this is bigger than huge, this is bigger than what’s bigger than huge.” I’m overwhelmed with excitement….sh*t is about to get real.”

Added Pink, “I think what makes the VMA’s such a powerful night is the unpredictability of it all and the versatility of artists – all from different genres and it’s kind of the most rock and roll show out there.

Hart’s acting credits include the comedy movie Think Like a Man and his stand-up feature film, Kevin Hart: Laugh at My Pain. He’s currently on a 90 city tour with his show “Let Me Explain,” with stops planned for cities including Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City.
