Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards aired on March 12, 2016 with Country music’s Blake Shelton as host. The first-time Kids’ Choice Awards host received some hosting advance from his The Voice co-stars Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams as well as Star Wars‘ Chewbacca and BB-8 prior to taking the stage to help pass out orange blimps to the winners. Among this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards winners were Adele, Amy Poehler, Zendaya, Fifth Harmony, and Jennifer Lawrence.
And among this year’s slime victims were host Blake Shelton, Grandfathered star John Stamos, Fifth Harmony, and The Angry Birds Movie co-stars Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad.
Musical performances included Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth teaming up on “One Call Away” and “See you Again,” and DNCE having the honor of closing the show with their single “Cake by the Ocean.” Celebs who showed up to Nickelodeon’s annual slimefest were Robert Downey Jr., Amy Poehler, Rob Gronkowski, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Evans, Meghan Trainor, Heidi Klum, Keke Palmer, Anthony Anderson, Chloe Bennet, Buddy Valastro, Sarah Hyland, Dove Cameron, Grant Gustin, Laura Marano, Zendaya, Will Arnett, Debby Ryan, and Dance Moms cast members.
