‘Spectral’ and ‘Krampus’ Get New Release Dates

Michael Dougherty’s holiday horror film Krampus and Nic Mathieu’s action thriller Spectral have just landed on official release dates, per Universal and Legendary Pictures. Krampus, a Christmas-themed horror movie, will arrive in theaters on November 25, 2015 while Spectral will try to creep out audiences on August 12, 2016.

The new release date puts Krampus up against Midnight Special, The Martian, and The Good Dinosaur.

Krampus was written by Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat), Todd Casey, and Zach Shields and is based on the legend of a pagan demon who terrorizes kids at Christmas. Spectral stars James Badge Dale, Emily Mortimer, Bruce Greenwood and Max Martini, and finds a Special Ops team taking on a supernatural threat.
