HBO’s Life’s Too Short is finishing up its run with a special airing on July 5, 2013. The Life’s Too Short Special will, according to the network, wrap up the story which unfolded over seven episodes in 2012. Warwick Davis will return to star as a fictionalized version of himself in the special. In addition, Jo Enright will be back as Davis’ ex-wife, Rosamund Hanson returns as his dim-witted assistant, Steve Brody once again plays his incompetent accountant, and Colin Hoult is again his spiritual counselor.

In the series, Davis plays an actor who is desperate to revive his career. He also spends his time managing a talent agency (Dwarves for Hire) while not attempting to the pick the brains of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in an effort to get more connections in the entertainment business.

Life’s Too Short Special was written and directed by Gervais and Merchant.

The Plot:

After a long cold spell, things are looking up for the self-aggrandizing Davis, who once appeared in some of Hollywood’s biggest hits (the Harry Potter and Star Wars films). He’s living with his new girlfriend, Amy, and is elated to learn from fellow Willow star Val Kilmer that a sequel to that 1988 fantasy may be in the works – if Davis can help raise funds to finance the film. Is the prospect too good to be true?
