With filming expected to begin in two months, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Ghost House and Mandate Pictures are after Lily Collins for the role of “Mia” in The Evil Dead remake. Collins was most recently seen on screen opposite her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner in Abduction. She’s got Mirror Mirror coming to theaters in March and is signed up to star as “Clary Fray” in the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments.
FilmDistrict is shooting for an April 2013 release of the new Dead. Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues co-wrote the script, with Alvarez set to direct (Diablo Cody handled some revisions to the script). Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Robert Tapert are producing.
The Plot:
“In this retelling, five friends hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.”
