Linkin Park has been tapped to headline the first-ever mtvU Fandon Awards and MTV Fan Fest set for July 24, 2014 at Petco Park. The event will help kick off the first official day of the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con and will be free to Comic-Con attendees. And for those who aren’t able to make it to the annual sold-out geek gathering, MTV and mtvU will be broadcasting a special featuring performances from the mtvU Fandom Awards on July 27, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT.
The Grammy Award-winning group is also set to be inducted into Guitar Center’s RockWalk on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, CA on June 18th. Linkin Park will be joining a list of inductees that includes Van Halen, AC/DC, Carlos Santana, and Jimmy Page. Per Guitar Center, the historic RockWalk “is dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues and R&B.”
“We’re honored to have our music recognized by our peers,” said Chester Bennington, lead vocalist of Linkin Park. “But to be added to Guitar Center’s RockWalk on Sunset Blvd, right where we started, is pretty surreal. We’re really grateful to be here alongside so many of the artists that inspired us.”
