Great news for Lucifer fans…Fox has renewed the devilishly fun series for a third season. Season two will return from its long winter break on May 1, 2017, and season three’s premiere date has not been set. Fox did however confirm the third season will consist of 22 one-hour episodes.

Lucifer is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate, and just keeps getting better and better,” stated David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Tom, Lauren and the entire cast have really made these characters three-dimensional, and the production team – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – is one of the best in the business. We’d also like to thank our partners Warner Bros. for their commitment to this show and we look forward to seeing where this wildly innovative series takes us in Season Three.”

Lucifer season two has been averaging 8 million viewers. The cast is led by Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar and includes Lauren German as Chloe, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, Aimee Garcia as Ella, Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, and Scarlett Estevez as Trixie. The series is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, and is executive produced by Ildy Modrovich, Joe Henderson, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and Len Wiseman.

Lucifer Season 2 Spring Premiere Plot: Lucifer (Ellis) has gone off the grid and cut off all contact from his family and the police department, following Chloe’s (German) near-death. But the murder of an up-and-coming guitarist causes him to resurface – with a new mystery woman. Meanwhile, Lucifer’s mom (Helfer) realizes she may have found a way to finally get them back to Heaven.
