Fox Searchlight Pictures and Film4 will be co-financing writer/director Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. With financing in place, filming’s expected to begin in April 2016 on the project produced by McDonagh, Peter Czernin, and Graham Broadbent of Blueprint Pictures. Shooting will take place in North Carolina.

“I’m delighted that through our shared passion and taste on several recent projects, we have come up with a mutually rewarding way for Film4 and Fox Searchlight to work together,” said Director of Film4 David Kosse. “They are a fantastic distribution partner to have on your side and we look forward to working closely with them and our friends at Blueprint over the next few months to help bring Martin’s darkly comic writing and directing genius to audiences around the globe.”

“We are proud to be continuing the tradition of bringing some of the best in UK filmmaking to worldwide audiences and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Film4,” added Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents Steve Gilula and Nancy Utley. “Martin is a great talent and we’re thrilled to be working with Graham and Pete again.”

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri isn’t the first film that McDonagh, Blueprint and Film4 have collaborated on. They previously worked together on McDonagh’s In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, both of which starred Colin Farrell. According to the financing deal, Fox Searchlight will have theatrical distribution rights and Film4 will retaining the UK TV rights.
