MTV’s stepping up to help out the Jersey Shore with Restore the Shore, a fundraising event to be held on November 15, 2012. Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the Shore and MTV and the cast of Jersey Shore will be putting on a one-hour fundraising special which will “encourage people nationwide to contribute to the rebuilding of Seaside Heights, the heart of the Jersey Shore and home to one of MTV’s most popular shows, Jersey Shore.”

Restore the Shore will air live from New York on Thursday, November 15th at 11pm (delayed on the West Coast) .

MTV’s partnered with Architecture for Humanity for the fundraising event, with funds raised by Restore the Shore “principally directed toward the rebuilding of the famed Seaside Heights boardwalk, as well as supporting the re-building efforts of businesses and residents in the community that were so tragically affected by this historic storm.”

Per MTV, the audience will be able to donate online and through mobile giving tools during and after the special airs.
