The season one finale turned out to be the series finale for NBC’s Constantine starring Matt Ryan, Angelica Celaya, and Charles Halford. Executive producer David Cerone tweeted the news today, but he’s still holding out hope the series could rise from the dead on a different network.

NBC never gave the show an additional episode order during season one, and the series’ finale only drew in 3 million viewers so the writing was on the wall. Unfortunately, Constantine just didn’t catch on with viewers despite the first-rate cast and behind-the-scenes crew. The series, which was based on the Hellblazer comics, premiered on October 24, 2014.
