HBO has set a November 2, 2014 premiere date for the miniseries Olive Kitteridge starring Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins. Olive Kitteridge, a two-part series, will air on Sunday, November 2nd and Monday, November 3rd at 9pm ET/PT.
Jane Anderson (The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom) wrote the script based on the award-winning book by Elizabeth Strout. Oscar nominee Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right) directed the miniseries which also features Bill Murray, John Gallagher, Jr., Peter Mullan, Rosemarie DeWitt and Zoe Kazan in supporting roles. McDormand, Anderson, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman executive produced Olive Kitteridge.
Olive Kitteridge tells the poignantly sweet, acerbically funny and devastatingly tragic story of a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of a woman whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and a staunch moral center.
