Starz announced the renewal of Power for a third season which should come as no surprise given the fact the season two premiere set a new record for the highest rated premiere episode of any series on the network. 1.43 million watched the first episode of season two live and overall more than 3.62 million watched the broadcast during the first weekend. Season three will begin shooting this September in New York, with Starz aiming for a 2016 premiere of the 10 episode third season.

Power was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh who executive produces along with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, and Gary Lennon. The cast is led by Omari Hardwick and includes Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton, Joseph Sikora, Sinqua Walls, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

“I am thrilled to learn that season three of Power has been officially ordered by Starz. It is an honor to work with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik, Ken Segna and the whole Starz team. Their support has been steadfast from the beginning, and I look forward to a bright future together,” said executive producer/showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh.

And actor/executive producer Curtis Jackson added, “Power is a project I have been passionate about since day one. I am glad the audience loves the show as much as we do, and we are just getting started.”

The Plot:

Power is the story of a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds: the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade.

Ghost’s work troubles pale in comparison to juggling his relationship with his wife, Tasha, and his first love, Angela, who’s also an Assistant U.S. Attorney investigating his drug organization. Ghost (Omari Hardwick) is set further back from his dream by his business partner, Tommy, who loves the drug game, and his former mentor, Kanan, fresh out of jail and looking for revenge.
