Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell Back for ‘Prison Break’ Event Series

The long talked about, much-anticipated Prison Break follow-up series is definitely happening with Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell confirmed to reprise their roles as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. The event series will be based on the critically acclaimed series that premiered in 2005 and ran for four seasons.


Fox did not announce any other casting details, how many episodes the event series will run, or when Prison Break fans can expect the event series to air.

Prison Break‘s Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein, and Dawn Olmstead are back on board as executive producers. Scheuring will also be the event series’ writer and showrunner.

A breakout success in its premiere season, garnering Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series – Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Miller), as well as winning the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama, Prison Break thrilled audiences for four heart-pounding seasons, ending its run in May 2009.
