Queen Latifah Joins the Super Bowl Lineup

Queen Latifah Will Sing at the 2014 Super Bowl

Fresh off officiating at the marriages of 33 couples live on the 2014 Grammys, Queen Latifah’s snagged another high profile gig: returning to perform “America The Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLVIII. This year’s Super Bowl is set to take place in the freezing MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2nd. Fox is airing the sporting world’s biggest televised event which pits the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos.
 
Queen Latifah’s “America the Beautiful” performance will air live before the kickoff. She also performed the song before SuperBowl XLIV. Other artists who’ve performed “America the Beautiful” during the Super Bowl broadcast include Jennifer Hudson (and Newton, CT children), Vicki Carr, Miranda Lambert, Lea Michele, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, Marc Anthony, and Mary J. Blige.
 
The 2013 Super Bowl was the most watched program in history, with 164 million viewers in the U.S. tuning in to watch the football action – and the commercials.
 
Also set to perform at the 2014 Super Bowl are Renee Fleming singing the National Anthem, Amber Zion performing both the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language, and Bruno Mars taking the stage at halftime.
