Gotham‘s Penguin is keeping busy during the show’s hiatus with a role in the sci-fi film, The Mandela Effect. Robin Lord Taylor has joined the cast as have Charlie Hofheimer (24: Legacy, Easy Living), Aleksa Palladino (Boardwalk Empire, Halt and Catch Fire), and Clarke Peters (The Wire, John Wick). Periscope Entertainment announced filming is now underway in Los Angeles on the psychological sci-fi thiller written by Steffen Schlachtenhaufen and David Guy Levy and directed by Levy.

Schlachtenhaufen and Levy previously worked together on Would You Rather.

Commenting on The Mandela Effect‘s cast, writer/director David Guy Levy said, “I’m grateful to have such a talented group of actors come together to tell this story; Steffen and I could not have asked for a better group to bring these characters to life, and we look forward to sharing this film with audiences everywhere.”

The Plot: The Mandela Effect follows a man who becomes obsessed with facts and events that have been collectively misremembered by thousands of people. Believing the phenomena to be the symptom of something much larger, his obsession eventually leads him to question reality itself. Principal photography is currently underway in Los Angeles.
