Samuel L Jackson May Join Travis Fimmel in ‘Inversion’

Filming is scheduled to begin in late February 2017 on Inversion with Vikings star Travis Fimmel in the lead role, and apparently Samuel L. Jackson is now in negotiations to join the cast. If the deal goes through, Jackson would play a Homeland Security investigator in the sci-fi film directed by Peter Segal (Grudge Match, Get Smart). Oscar winner Paul Haggis (Crash), Oscar nominee David Arata (Children of Men), and Bragi Schut (Season of the Witch) wrote the script. Once Upon a Time‘s Liu Yifei is confirmed for a role.

Budgeted at $130 million, Inversion will shoot at Babelsberg studios in Berlin as well as Chicago and Shanghai. Facing East is financing the film, with Philip Lee, Markus Barmettler, and Michael Nozik producing. Mark Damon, Jim Skotchdopole, and Michael Ewing are executive producing.

The Inversion Plot: Inversion follows a street-wise American con man (Fimmel), and a young Chinese physicist (Liu) as they race against the clock to save the earth from a terrifying loss of gravity. John Bailey (Jackson’s character) believing the two are the cause of the cause of the inversions of gravity chase them across two continents trying to stop further destruction.
