‘School Spirits’ is Ready to Haunt Syfy

TV audiences don’t seem to be able to get enough of ‘ghost’ shows, and Syfy is capitalizing on their popularity with School Spirits. The network’s just ordered six, one hour-long episodes of the spooky docu-series which is set to feature stories of haunted schools. Mark Burnett (Survivor) and Seth Jarrett are executive producing the unscripted series.

In the press release announcing the series, Mark Stern, President of Original Programming, Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions said, “School hauntings are some of the most terrifying first-hand accounts. The stories that have terrified generations of students and teachers are not for the faint-of-heart. With Mark and Seth as executive producers, we look forward to delivering another gripping paranormal series for our viewers.”

The project will tell true ghost stories of hauntings that have happened at schools across the country. The stories will be told in first person narratives through the testimonials of real students, teachers, parents and staff that have encountered the paranormal activity, blended with bone-chilling cinematic reenactments to further bring the haunting experiences to life.

Mark Burnett joins forces with Seth Jarrett, creator of the hit series Celebrity Ghost Stories, to take viewers on a spooky thrill ride through some of the most infamously haunted colleges, universities and high schools nationwide. Students, alumni, and faculty share their intimate paranormal campus encounters, while their experiences are brought to life in Jarrett’s arresting style of storytelling.
