Relativity Media has snatched up Sean Bean (simply incredible in Game of Thrones) to play Snow White’s dad, the King, in their still-untitled Snow White film currently shooting in Montreal. Bean joins a cast that includes Julia Roberts as the Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott, Robert Emms as Prince Alcott’s valet, Renbock, and Nathan Lane as the Queen’s bungling servant, Brighton. Michael Lerner is playing Baron and Mare Winningham is Baker Margaret.

The dwarfs will be played by Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba and Joey Gnoffo. Tarsem Singh (Immortals) is directing from a screenplay by Melisa Wallack (Meet Bill) and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher).

Relativity is planning a March 16, 2012 release.

The Plot: “In Relativity’s Snow White, a spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale, an evil queen steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.”
