Seduced and Abandoned will have its world premiere at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival however HBO’s pulled off a preemptive strike, picking up the television rights prior to its festival debut. Directed by James Toback, the documentary was produced by Toback (Tyson, writer of Bugsy), Alec Baldwin and Michael Mailer.

“When James and Alec set out to make this documentary, it took a different turn,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “What resulted is something uniquely special and wonderfully entertaining.”

“I am thrilled to be in business with HBO,” stated Toback. “Richard Plepler’s and Michael Lombardo’s enthusiasm for our film has been incredibly gratifying, and I am looking forward to audiences getting to share our cinematic journey.”

And Baldwin added, “HBO has long been a home for unique documentary films. I’m grateful that they have chosen to present ours.”
