Ray Donovan burst out of the gate garnering the biggest series premiere numbers in Showtime’s history, and so it’s absolutely no surprise the network’s decided to bring the show back for season two. The drama was created by Ann Biderman and stars Live Schreiber, Jon Voight, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, Paula Malcomson, Elliott Gould, and Devon Bagby.

David Nevins, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc, announced the season two renewal, stating: “Ray Donovan is on track to be our biggest season one show ever. Ann Biderman and the extraordinarily talented creative team, coupled with the brilliant ensemble cast led by Liev Schreiber, have produced one of the hottest new dramas of the year. We are proud and excited to pick up another season.”

According to Showtime, Ray Donovan drew in six million viewers for its series premiere.

The Plot:

Set in the sprawling mecca of the rich and famous, Ray Donovan stars Schreiber as LA’s best professional fixer, the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away. This powerful drama unfolds when his father, Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight), is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that shakes the Donovan family to its core.
