The network announced Siren will participate in a panel on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11am PT which will be hosted by Grammy Award-winning singer/superfan Chilli of TLC. The panel will take place in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront, next to the San Diego Convention Center.
Cast members expected to attend next month’s Comic Con include Eline Powell (‘Ryn’), Alex Roe (‘Ben’), Fola Evans-Akingbola (‘Maddie’), Ian Verdun (‘Xander’), and Rena Owen (‘Helen’). Executive producers Emily Whitesell and Eric Wald will also take part in the panel session/Q&A with fans fortunate enough to snag a San Diego Comic Con ticket.
Women ages 18-34 latched onto the series in high enough numbers to earn season one of Siren the highest ratings among all new cable dramas in that age group. Season two of the popular series will begin shooting in July in Vancouver. Freeform’s targeting a 2019 premiere for the second season.
The series is based on a story Eric Wald and Dean White. White and Wald serve as executive producers along with Brad Luff, Nate Hopper, and RD Robb. Emily Whitesell is the series’ showrunner and also executive produces.
The Season One Plot: In this epic tale, the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, is turned upside down when a mysterious girl (Powell) appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the small fishing town. Using their resources, marine biologists Ben (Roe) and Maddie (Evans-Akingbola) must work together to find out who and what drove this primal hunter of the deep sea to land, and are there more like her out there?
