Survivor contestants will be trying to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other for at least two more seasons. CBS just announced they’ve renewed the popular reality show for the 25th and 26th editions. And just in case you were worried about it, Survivor will continue to be hosted by Jeff Probst – a job he’s held since the show’s first season in May 2000.

The next season of Survivor will premiere Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

Survivor is an outstanding franchise,” stated Jennifer Bresnan, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, CBS Entertainment in the official press statement. “Its format guarantees fresh characters, exotic places and fascinating social dynamics every season. And, the show is backed by an A-plus production team that is as passionate as the die hard Survivor fans. All of us at CBS are incredibly proud of Survivor’s ongoing success.”

“I am thrilled to continue working on the longest-running reality competition show with the world’s greatest adventure crew for two more seasons,” said host and executive producer Jeff Probst. “We are so thankful for the supportive fans who remain with us every season, and we promise to deliver another year of quality television.”

Per CBS, the 23rd edition of Survivor is the #2 reality series on TV for adults 18-49. This season’s averaging 12.27 million viewers.
