Switchfoot Announces New Album and Fall Tour Dates

Switchfoot will be releasing their ninth studio album along with an 80-minute film in October. Both the film and the album will be titled Fading West, with the film screening as the ‘opening act’ of their upcoming fall tour.

The Grammy Award-winning group has been around for 17 years and all told has sold more than 5.5 million albums. According to Atlantic Records, Fading West will differ from the band’s most recent release (Vice Verses) as it incorporates “cultural influences” gathered during their 2012 tour. Some of the songs on the album will serve as the soundtrack to the 80-minute film.

In addition to the album, the tour, and the film, Switchfoot announced their 9th Annual Switchfoot Bro-Am surf contest will take in North County San Diego July 12-13, 2013. The annual charity event includes a surfing contest, nerf surf jousting, and a concert with Switchfoot, Gentleman Hall, Pacific Air, 78 Violet, and Gungor.
