Taylor Swift’s been tapped to headline Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013 on ABC. The special, which helps ring in the New Year, will feature Swift performing in front of an audience of one million revelers in Times Square.

Swift just released her latest album, Red, and has been all over the country (and on assorted talk/entertainment shows) promoting the new release. Her performance on the New Year’s Eve special will cap off a successful 2012 for the six-time Grammy winner and 10-time American Music Award winning musician. She’s now in the record books as the only female singer who has had two albums hit 1 million in sales during their first week in release. She’s also the current record-holder for the most digital sales in a week and the highest iTunes first-week sales.

“I remember meeting and listening to Taylor Swift perform before she even had her first single. I was blown away by her talent and just knew that she would be a huge success,” stated Ryan Seacrest. “Taylor is truly this year’s global star and is the perfect artist to ring in the New Year for us at the crossroads of the world.”
