‘The Innocents’ Casting Announcement Arrives with a Teaser Video

Netflix just confirmed the cast of their upcoming new original dramatic series, The Innocents. The cast announcement was accompanied by a riveting teaser video featuring the show’s stars and broken glass along with the proclamation: “What you see is not what you see. Love changes everything.”

Per Netflix’s announcement, the series stars Sorcha Groundsell (Clique, Iona, Sleeping Lions) as June, Percelle Ascott (Wizard vs. Aliens, The Weekend Movie) as Harry, and Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential, Memento, The King’s Speech) as Halvorson.

Netflix has not announced a premiere date for the new series, however they did reveal it will premiere before the end of 2018.

The Innocents was created by Hania Elkington and Simon Duric. Chris Croucher serves as a producer, with Farren Blackburn, Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, and Willow Grylls executive producing. Blackburn (Daredevil, Doctor Who, Holby City) also directed six of the season one’s eight episodes. UK-based New Pictures is producing the Netflix series.

The Plot: When teenagers Harry and June run away from their repressive family lives to be together, they are thrown into an extraordinary journey of self-discovery that derails their innocent dream. Secrets kept from them by their respective parents test their love to breaking point; and the extraordinary gift they possess unleashes powerful forces intent on dividing them forever.
