LD Entertainment has set a September 27, 2013 release date for the dramatic film Therese starring Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House) and Tom Felton (the Harry Potter franchise), and based on Emile Zola’s novel Thérèse Raquin. Charlie Stratton adapted the story and directed the film, with LD Entertainment’s CEO Mickey Liddell and Head of Production Pete Shilaimon producing.

LD Entertainment says they’ll be presenting the film on the festival circuit, followed by an awards season push.

In addition to Olsen and Felton, the cast of Therese includes Jessica Lange, Oscar Isaac, Shirley Henderson, Matt Lucas, John Kavanagh, and Mackenzie Crook.

The Plot: Therese (Olsen), a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Felton), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (Lange). Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominos with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband’s alluring friend, Laurent (Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.
