TLC has ended the run of Kate Plus 8, opting to not bring Kate Gosselin and her brood back for another season. The series hit a ratings high two years back when Jon and Kate were in the process of separating, with their marriage troubles well chronicled in the tabloids. Since the couple’s split, the show has lost viewers and now TLC believes it’s time to pull the plug.
“TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8. By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future,” stated the network.
Jon & Kate Plus 8 debuted on April 23, 2007 with the final season of Kate Plus 8 premiering on April 4, 2011.
