Tony Shalhoub Joins the Cast of ‘Nurse Jackie’

Monk star Tony Shalhoub will be joining the cast of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie when it returns for season seven next year. The Emmy winning actor will be playing Dr. Bernard Prince, “a new ER doctor who has a great bedside manner, a special touch with his boss, Gloria Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith), and who offers Jackie something she desperately needs – a friend.”

The cast of Nurse Jackie is led by Edie Falco and includes Merritt Wever, Dominic Fumusa, Paul Schulze, Betty Gilpin, Ruby Jerins, Stephen Wallem, Mackenzie Aladjem and Peter Facinelli. Clyde Phillips is the series’ showrunner and also executive produces with Tom Straw, Richie Jackson, Liz Flahive and Caryn Mandabach.

Shalhoub’s credits also include Wings, Men in Black, Men in Black II, Big Night, Made Up, Barton Fink, Cars, Cars II, and the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
