Zombie Lovers Give Walking Dead Its Biggest Audience Yet

Season three’s final episode of The Walking Dead delivered the show its biggest viewer numbers thus far. AMC’s The Walking Dead had 12.8 million viewers tuning in for the season three finale, making the show the #1 program on March 31, 2013. The Walking Dead also earned the top spot for the week in the adults 18-49 demographic by picking up 8.1 million adult viewers.

It’s a joy that we get to work with such tremendous talent to make The Walking Dead and Talking Dead come to life for audiences that continue to engage and grow,” stated Charlie Collier, AMC’s president. “In just three seasons, The Walking Dead has become a pop-culture phenomenon, entertaining millions of passionate viewers and obliterating traditional lines between cable and broadcast television.”
 
Overall, the season three finale was up 38% over season two’s finale.
 
Talking Dead also posted huge numbers immediately following The Walking Dead‘s season three finale, earning it the most watched episode of the series with 5.2 million viewers tuning in.
