The half-hour comedy series You’re the Worst has been renewed for a third season by FXX. The network ordered a third season to air next summer and also reached a new deal with the show’s creator, executive producer Stephen Falk. Falk will continue to develop and produce shows for FX Networks and FX Productions as part of the deal.

“Stephen is one of the best new talents in comedy – as funny, thoughtful and original as You’re the Worst and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next,” stated Nick Grad, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “You’re the Worst, already one of the most critically-acclaimed comedies on television, is also one of the most innovative, something Stephen and the cast will continue in the much-deserved third season. The daring turn this season, led by the honest and respectful portrayal of Gretchen’s depression, was a very courageous move for a comedy and another milestone for You’re the Worst.”

The second season is currently airing on Wednesdays at 10:30pm ET/PT and will finish up with the final season two episode on December 9, 2015. Chris Geere, Aya Cash, Desmin Borges, and Kether Donohue star.

You’re the Worst Plot:

You’re the Worst puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre. Narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive Jimmy Shive-Overly (Geere) has inadvertently found himself paired up with cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn Gretchen Cutler (Cash). After a whirlwind courtship that culminates in Gretchen burning her apartment down with a faulty “back massager,” she and Jimmy are forced to take their relationship to the next level by moving in together (which neither of them are particularly thrilled about). Now they must learn how to live with each other when they can barely live with themselves.

Borges plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless, war veteran roommate who’s on a mission to redefine his relationship with Jimmy. Donohue is Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who’s now struggling to find her identity after being dumped by her “lame, soft” husband.
