Netflix has unveiled the first photo of Joan Allen as Colonel Margaret Rayne (headmaster of an all-boys military academy) in the fourth season of The Killing. Netflix picked up The Killing from Fox Television after it was cancelled, bringing the series back from the dead. And for those who need to catch up, all three prior seasons are now available on Netflix.

The Killing‘s fourth season will arrive on August 1, 2014.

The Plot:

The fourth and final season of The Killing picks up right after the season 3 finale. As Detective Linden (Mireille Enos) and Detective Holder (Joel Kinnaman) struggle to manage the fallout from their rash actions at the end of last season, they are assigned a new case — a picture perfect family is murdered, survived only by the son, Kyle Stansbury (Tyler Ross), who was shot in the head during the massacre. Joan Allen guest stars this season as Colonel Margaret Rayne, the headmaster of the all-boys military academy where Kyle attends. The new season also stars Gregg Henry, Sterling Beaumon and Levi Meaden.

The ‘Point Break’ Remake Begins Shooting

Filming Begins on Point Break Starring Edgar Ramirez

The Point Break remake that’s been in the works for a couple of years has actually started shooting today. The original action thriller was released way back in 1991 and starred Keanu Reeves as Johnny Utah and Patrick Swayze as Bodhi. The remake, with Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez in those starring roles, will open in theaters on August 7, 2015.

Alcon Entertainment’s Point Break is being directed by Ericson Core (Invincible) from a script by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen). The 1991 Point Break was directed by Kathryn Bigelow who went on to helm The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. The cast of the remake also includes Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer, and Delroy Lindo.

Per the official announcement by Alcon principals Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, this new take on the ’91 film is all about extreme sports rather than surfing. Extreme athletes will perform stunts set to include free rock climbing, wild motorcycle stunts, wingsuit flying, and riding some 70-foot waves in the film. Among the athletes who’ll be a part of Point Break are surfers Makua Rothman, Billy Kemper, Brian Keaulana, and Ahanu Tson-dru.

Also attached are snowboarders Lucas DeBari, Ralph Backstrom, Mitch Toelderer, Mike Basich, and Xavier De La Rue. The motorcycle stunts will be performed by Riley Harper and Oakley Lehman, and Jeb Corliss, Jon Devore, Julian Boulle, Noah Bahnson, and Mike Swanson will be donning the wingsuits.

Warner Bros Pictures is distributing the film, which is scheduled to shoot throughout North America, Europe, South America, and Asia.

The Plot:

In Point Break, a young FBI agent infiltrates an extraordinary team of extreme sports athletes he suspects of masterminding a string of unprecedented, sophisticated corporate heists. Deep undercover and with his life in danger, he strives to prove they are the architects of the mind-boggling crimes that are devastating the world’s financial markets.

First Look: ‘The Prince’ Trailer Starring Bruce Willis

The Prince, the new action film with Bruce Willis, isn’t getting as much pre-release attention as most of his movies of the genre. Lionsgate’s also only releasing the thriller in a limited number of theaters simultaneous with its release On Demand on August 22, 2014, which is interesting as the trailer’s no worse than any of the recent theatrically released Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. Directed by Brian A. Miller, Willis is joined in The Prince by Jason Patric, John Cusack, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Johnathon Schaech, Gia Mantegna, Jung Ji-Hoon (aka Rain), and Jessica Lowndes.

The Plot:

Jason Patric, Bruce Willis and John Cusack face off in this action-packed thriller. A retired assassin is drawn back into the life he gave up when his daughter is kidnapped. To rescue her, he must confront his former rival.

Paddington is going to make his Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon debut this year as The Weinstein Company and Macy’s jointly just announced the Peruvian bear’s participation in the annual holiday celebration. According to the official announcement, the Paddington balloon will feature the bear in mid-stride “as if making his way to catch a bus, train or plane on his globetrotting journey.” He’ll be dressed, of course, in his standard outfit of a blue overcoat and a red rain hat. The balloon will also show the adorable bear carrying his briefcase.

Paddington appeared as part of the parade back in 1990, but only as an inflatable on aboard a float. The Paddington balloon will be 34 feet wide and stand 60 feet tall.

The 88th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on NBC on November 27 from 9am – 12pm.

“Watching the Macy’s Day Parade has been a Thanksgiving tradition in my family for as long as I can remember and having Paddington join the parade this year makes it all the more special. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company.

“We are so thrilled to welcome Paddington back to the Macy’s Parade family of classic characters,” said Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “With his trademark hat, coat and suitcase, Paddington is ready for his trip down the streets of Manhattan and into the hearts and homes of millions of spectators who will once again fall in love with the classic children’s book character, just in time for his feature film debut this Christmas season.”

Paddington the movie will open in theaters on December 25, 2014. Directed by Paul King, the cast includes Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi, and Nicole Kidman.

The Story:

When Pulitzer Prize winning author and presidential speechwriter William Safire died in 2009, a speech called “In Event Of Moon Disaster” was discovered in his papers. Written in 1969, the speech was to be read by President Nixon in the event that the Apollo 11 mission to the moon was met with tragedy. That speech is the inspiration for this film which plays out as a fictionalization or alternate reality of the events.
